EntrepreneurshipTen years of success.More than 100 companies have been created over the past 10 years by graduates of the Collège des Ingénieurs (including alumni from the Copernic program), either directly after their graduation or after several years of professional experience. One third of these young and innovative companies have already realized yearly revenues of more than $25 million. Operating in services as well as in industry, these companies have created thousands of jobs in over 20 countries. For example, we all know MSN: the program was actually conceived by a young innovative graduate of the CDI, and then resold to Microsoft. Certain startups that CDI alumni have created, particularly Mandriva/MandrakeSoft, are major players today in the world of free software. In France, perhaps you have a mobile phone contract with Neuf Cegetel; in Germany, maybe your house is equipped with Goldbeck solar panels; in the USA, you might consult MedHelp.org for your healthcare: in all of these cases, you are interacting with companies created by CDI alumni. The approach of the Collège des IngénieursThe important community of young entrepreneurs among both the CDI and the Copernic alumni, have advised us to approach the process of creating companies by different means than used by classic business schools. The CDI will not simply encourage the development of new projects and innovative technologies, but will also provide a unique toolbox (operational and useful on a daily basis) to help entrepreneurial alumni realize their novel ideas and successfully execute their start-ups. The CDI program is more than a 10-month MBA. It is a lifelong professional network (a collège) of engineers and scientists who share their entrepreneurship experiences and know-how. Together, they can support all stages of creation and development of start-ups (education, coaching, financing, marketing, attracting the first customers). "CDI Entrepreneurs" is a new initiative that we have created in order to develop and cultivate your capacity to innovate. |
